​North American Korean Philosophy Association (NAKPA) was established in 2013.
Since 2014, NAKPA is affiliated with the American Philosophical Association (APA) and organizes a panel in all three divisions (Eastern, Central, and Pacific) of the APA.
​
Its annual conference serves as a venue where scholars of Korean philosophy and those who are interested in Korean philosophy get together and exchange ideas. Scholars of other philosophical traditions have also joined the annual conference, delivering special lectures at the meeting.
